Senior Project Engineer – Pharmaceutical Manufacturing
Location: Near Princeton, New Jersey (90% onsite)
About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support a pharmaceutical manufacturing project involving a major capital investment ($50M+). This role is ideal for someone with strong expertise in cGMP standards, construction project management, and specialized experience with Oral Solid Dose (OSD), spray drying, or similar pharmaceutical equipment.
You will work closely with the Project Director, playing a key role in managing cost, schedule, and execution while learning the company’s project management methodologies. This position offers substantial growth opportunities, preparing you for leadership in future high-profile projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Execution: Support large capital projects with a focus on construction activities, ensuring compliance with pharmaceutical manufacturing standards and safety regulations.
- Construction Oversight: Collaborate with contractors and onsite teams to manage construction deliverables, timelines, and quality control.
- Cost & Schedule Management: Lead project control activities, ensuring budgets and timelines are maintained.
- Technical Expertise: Provide insights on OSD, spray drying, and related equipment during design and installation phases.
- Onsite Engagement: Be present onsite (90%) to oversee construction progress, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure project milestones are met.
- International Collaboration: Travel internationally, including visits to the company’s European HQ, to align with global project standards.
- Leadership Development: Learn the company’s project management framework to transition into managing large-scale projects independently.
Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, or related discipline).
- Experience: 5–8 years in project engineering, including significant experience wit construction projects and large capital investments ($50M+).
- Pharmaceutical Knowledge: Proficiency in cGMP standards and hands-on experience with OSD, spray drying, or similar equipment.
- Project Controls: Demonstrated ability to oversee cost management, scheduling, and construction coordination.
- Soft Skills: Strong leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Travel: Willingness to travel internationally for project needs.
